Is a wine app.

Ok the programm has some good stuff, but nothing so special that somebody should use a windows api imho.

Wine is for me a last ressort if there is nothing else.

But that is my own private statement!

That's a definite negative

That's a definite negative and one of the reasons that I personally don't use it. The main difference between Picasa and most other Windows apps run in Wine is that Google officially supports it on Linux and packaged it specifically for Linux. An existing Wine install does not have to be set up and configured.

Great but small WINE annoyances

I use Picasa for my photo management almost exclusively as I find it much more intuitive to use than most of the alternatives. However, I've seen better color touchup tools in the others, and when you close Picasa (at least on my system) it leaves behind a small WINE applet that you can't close out.
