Outdated to the point of uselessness
The "real" Yahoo Messenger that you can download from Yahoo.com hasn't been updated in years, and even when it was "new" had only the most basic of functionality.
As of now I've found that it relies on support files that are so out of date that it won't even install on newer systems.
Better to go with one of the alternatives such as Gaim, however if you're looking for functionality such as avatars, etc, you won't find it in a Linux client.
