wicd network manager

wicd is a complete network manager, especially useful when when needing WPA encryption over WIFI.
When experiencing intermittent connections with your standard install this could be the solution you need.

The installation is a bit unusual as it is recommended to add the site to your package manager repositories.
The advantages are you always get the latest version and it's coming from a trusted source.

Please note this is not a driver for your network card.
