Mediacontrol's basic purpose is to control MPD and MPlayer in order to make consuming media easier and more conveniently.

Special Features

play files: if you run mcc file with file beeing any media file, it will be opened with mplayer and all other optiones are passed through to it. So instead of running mplayer, just run mcc; or use this: alias mplayer='mcc'

quickplay: this command searches the playlist and database of the player for the given parameters and plays it. It's especially useful with mpd, e.g. mcc qp yourfavouriteband or mcc qp yourfavouritesong.
