Description
LightZone is a professional photo browser and editor, like Aperture or Lightroom. It's also useful for amateurs, like iPhoto or Picasa. It runs on Linux, Windows, and Mac. The Linux version is free, as in beer.
It features RAW file support, high-fidelity color space management, non-destructive editing, and color-managed display, printing and export. It's got layers and masks, and they're easy to use. It's mostly written in Java, and it includes a Java runtime environment. |

Lightzone has always been available for Windows and Mac. Linux version was always performed by employees on the spare time. The company (Light Crafts) has never supported, and based on their comments within their own forums, never will support Linux for what ever reason.
The links provided here for download no longer work and all the remnants of the web sites have been removed.
For the near term, LightZone for Linux is dead.

It appears that the company decided to officially provide LightZone for Linux after all!
No free version though, just a trial...

lightzone
lightzone is a very professional photo tweaking tool. The Linux port was a hobby project of one of the developers, however the Linux version is a few versions behind the MS/Mac release. From what I understand, the linux developer has left the project, so there will be no more development for Linux...
